A SALES Director from a Newton Aycliffe based manufacturer has received a special award to recognise 25 years of service.

Marc Teasdale, of Bishop Auckland, joined UK Shower Manufacturer, Roman in January 1988, when the company was just approaching its own third birthday.

As one of the original team of Sales Managers, Mr Teasdale worked closely with company founder and current Chairman Gerry Osborne. Since then he has worked his way up to the role of Sales Director.

He now focuses on his relationships with Roman's key house builder partners and merchant partners and is a well-known face and personality in the industry.

Mr Teasdale has even passed his passion for showering down the family, with his daughter Lauren Teasdale, 18, joining Roman's Marketing Team on a work placement from St John's School in Bishop  Auckland.

And, last week, Lauren presented her father with a photographic montage spanning his 25 years.

Gerry Osborne, Roman's chairman, said: "Marc is our longest serving member of the team, having joined us almost at the beginning. It has been fantastic to see him grow and flourish with the business.

“The feedback we receive from customers who work with Marc is always extremely positive and they have nothing but praise for him.

“He has become trusted and well respected both within the business and with our customers. Importantly he has always been great fun to work alongside."
