WORK on an offshore wind farm off the North-East coast is starting to take shape.
EDF Energy Renewables is installing its 27 turbines at a site off South Gare, Redcar, which is located 1.5km from the shore at its closest point, just south of the mouth of the River Tees.
Work started at the turn of last year and foundation work continued until the summer. Those works are now being followed by the more visible above-sea installation of transition pieces, turbine towers, hubs and blades.
