A CHARITY is urging people to donate unwanted Christmas presents to its shops.

Oxfam has launched a ‘Give, Resell, Reuse and Recycle’ (GBBR) campaign, asking people to turn unpopular gifts into cash for the cause.

The charity has a bookshop and boutique on Elvet Bridge, Durham City.

Michael Ridsdale, shop manager, said: “Donations are the life blood of Oxfam shops.

“Throughout the year we offer the people of County Durham a way to change countless lives around the world by converting their unwanted gifts into cash and this is especially the case for those redundant Christmas gifts.

“Your precious donations will make a massive difference to Oxfam in raising as much money as possible for our work fighting poverty around the world.”
