SCOUTS have done their bit to improve their local area by planting young trees.
Members of the Seaham 5th Scout Group were joined by their families this morning (THURSDAY) to plant 40 saplings in the Station Road and Mill Inn area of Seaham.
The scouts have been working with Durham County Council’s Civic Pride Team to plant the trees, which have been donated by the Woodland Trust and will enhance the existing tree line in the area.
Any community groups that would like further information on how to get involved in environmental projects in their area are asked to contact Durham County Council on 0300-026-1000.
