IMAGES of graffiti daubed around a North Yorkshire town have been issued by the police in the hope of tracking down the vandals .

The graffiti was sprayed around Harrogate, including the underpass at Norwood Grove and on telephone boxes in Euclid Avenue, Hartwith Road and Jennyfield Drive between Monday, December 17 and Saturday, December 29.

Police Community Support Officer Michael Smith said: “This type of mindless vandalism is utterly pointless and the vandals need to be caught as they need to understand the negative impact it has on our communities.

“I ask people to take a look at the graffiti tags to see if they can identify those responsible. If you can put names to the vandals, or may have witnessed the damage taking place, please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.”
