A BRACING walk along the upper Derwent valley in north-west Durham, will be led by voluntary countryside ranger Brian Page, on Friday (January 4).
The Banks and Braes of the Bonny Derwent is described as of ‘medium-long’ difficulty, over an eight mile route.
Walkers should gather in the west car park, at Allensford Picnic Area, off the A68, west of Consett, for a 10.30am start.
Depending on weather conditions it is expected to take up to four-and-half hours to complete.
There is a £4 charge per person, or £10 for a family ticket for two adults and up to three children, aged 12 or under. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
