HOUGHALL Horticultural Society’s next meeting will be held in the conference hall of East Durham College’s Houghall campus, near Durham City, on Tuesday, January 8, at 7.30pm. The subject is: Durham gardens in bloom.
SHOPPERS’ SERVICE: St Andrew’s Methodist Church, in Coxhoe, will hold its monthly Shoppers’ Service on Saturday, January 5, from 10am to 10.30am. The speaker is lay preacher Tony Whiting.
POULTRY OK: Amber Real Estate Investments has been granted planning permission to upgrade a poultry unit at The Poultry Farm, Potterhouse Lane, Pity Me, near Durham. The project will see eight sheds demolished and replaced with three new sheds and two service buildings.
MULTIPLE OCCUPATION: Durham County Council planning officials have given the go-ahead for the first and second floors of 91 Claypath, Durham City, to be converted from hotel accommodation to an apartment in multiple occupation.
