Ms McGregor, who last played the Gala in September, was a child prodigy, passing a rock school exam aged eight.
She went on to gain a first class honours degree in popular music at Leeds College of Music and is now said to be one of the most exciting rock and blues musicians performing in the UK today.
This year’s Durham Blues Festival was held in Dunelm House, home of Durham Students Union, in June. It featured guitarist Robin Trower, Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash and an acoustic stage with six acts.
