A COUNTY Durham-based Territorial Army band has produced a new charity CD.
The Newton Aycliffe-based Pipes and Drums of 102 Battalion Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers, which prefers to go by the name of The Northern Craftsmen, has recorded a collection which is being sold in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
It includes military marches, jigs, traditional songs and modern compositions.
Some tracks are supported by the Royal Signals Northern Band.
The band has 18 members, under the command of Pipe Major Gary Dodd. It has played at venues across Europe, including Moscow’s Red Square.
The CD, titled Pipes and Drums 102 Battalion REME, costs £10, plus £1.20 postage and packing, and can be bought from: ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Debdon Gardens, Newcastle, NE6 5TL.
