Train company calls for photographers to submit shots of the North East
4:06pm Thursday 20th December 2012 in News
AN amateur photographer could see their work used to decorate a special train as part of a project to celebrate the best of the North-East.
Train company Grand Central has called on photographers to send their images of iconic locations from across the region, with the winning image chosen to decorate its Hart of the North train.
The company will choose five images from photographers around the region overall for use on the Eaglescliffe to London route, which it hopes will showcase to customers some of the many reasons to visit the North-East.
The winning photographer will receive a return family trip to London, as well as the chance to attend the unveiling ceremony for the new train.
Sean English, general manager at Grand Central, said: “We have a tradition of naming our trains and personalising the interiors and so the Hart of the North train needed an identity within its carriages to match its name.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the phenomenal scenery and attractions that the North-East has to offer.”
Entrants can email photographs, along with their name, age, telephone number and location of the picture to firstname.lastname@example.org using the title header Eaglescliffe Hart of the North.
Pictures can also be uploaded to the Facebook site at facebook.com/grandcentralrail
The competition closes on December 27 and winners will be selected by January 10.
