POLICE are appealing for information after a serious car accident near Richmond just after midnight on Thursday (December 20).
Two men in their early 20s were travelling from Richmond towards Marske at Clapgate Bank - a single-track country lane running from Hurgill Road, Richmond, into Marske village - in a blue BMW 3 Series car.
As a result of the crash the driver and passenger –both from the Richmond area – were taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, in a serious condition.
Traffic Sergeant Neale Rees, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the BMW prior to the incident to get in touch with the police straight away.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact Thirsk police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Neale Rees.
Alternatively information can be emailed to neale.rees@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
