EDUCATION, the economy and the environment are the top three political issues for Durham people, according to a survey.
Members of Durham University Green Party Society (DUGPS) questioned passers-by in Millennium Place, Durham City, over two Saturdays, asking what issues were most important to them.
DUGPS says the three issues which came out top are important to them too.
Stephen Ashfield, Green Party candidate for the Neville’s Cross ward of Durham County Council, said Mount Oswald golf course, which is the subject of a major residential planning application, is a valued green space and it was vital the city’s green belt land was protected.
