AN animal charity’s rescue centre will be visited by the local MP tomorrow, Friday December 14.

Kevan Jones, Labour member for North Durham, will go to the RSPCA’s Felledge Animal Centre at Chester Moor, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham.

Felledge has a cattery and kennels with space for 60 cats and 36 dogs and offers specialist care and rehabilitation for abandoned animals.

It is also home to an equine centre that is one of only three run by the RSPCA in England and Wales.

Mr Jones said, “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to visit Felledge, which I know does such marvellous work with animals that have suffered cruelty and neglect.

“I am proud to have such an excellent facility in my constituency, and it is vitally important, particularly at this time of year, to do all we can to support the work of this centre, and RSPCA facilities around the country.”
