Man arrested after children approached

A MAN has been arrested after approaching children and making inappropriate comments. In the last month police have received three reports that a man had approached children in the Felling area of Gateshead and spoken to them. The incidents all happened around 8.30am and took place on Tuesday, November 6, near to Heworth Grange School, on Thursday, November 29, near to Colgate School and on Tuesday, December 4 at Thomas Hepburn School. A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the reports in the Felling area on Wednesday. He is in custody helping officers with enquiries.
