THE region is expected to go crazy for X Factor finalist James Arthur when he comes home tomorrow (Tuesday, December 4).

Tickets for the Saltburn singer’s show at Middlesbrough Town Hall were gone in just 30 minutes yesterday.

Crowds are expected by the red carpet tonight for the X Factor finalist before the show and the talented singer song-writer will have a TV crew following him around his old haunts in Saltburn.

Hundreds queued at Middlesbrough Town Hall for the free tickets and more than 2,000 are expected to attend tomorrow night.

The 24-year-old will compete against Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney in Saturday’s final and is second favourite with bookmaker Ladbrokes at 6/4, compared to Jahmene at 6/5 favourite and Christopher at 7/2.

James has tweeted: “I can’t wait to come home,” and told his home fans, “thanks for all the support.”

His excited older sister, Sian, called on fans to head to Dundas Street in Saltburn from 9am where James is expected to appear at 9.45am.

“It’ll be the place to be,” she said.

He won the support of last year’s X Factor finalist Amelia Lily, of Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, who tweeted: “So proud of James Arthur. Another home coming in the Boro! Go on son.”

James will visit his old Saltburn flat, his local pub, The Victoria and Redcar pier with his mentor, Nicole Scherzinger and a TV crew in tow in the daytime. From 6pm TFM Radio will host a warm up event at Centre Square before the concert starts at 8pm.

Albert Road will be closed between Corporation Road and Grange Road from 6.30pm until 10pm as thousands converge on the warm up and concert. Traffic will be diverted although emergency service vehicles will be allowed through at all times.
