FINALIST: James Arthur
TEESSIDE'S James Arthur is in next Saturday's X Factor final.
The 24-year-old, from Saltburn, was the first to be voted through by the public in Sunday evening's results show and joins Christopher Maloney and Jahmene in the final of the singing contest.
Arthur had sung U2's One and Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Power of Love.
X Factor judge Gary Barlow had described his performance as the "performance of the series".
The ex-pub singer shouted "come on, come on" as the results were announced and told host Dermot O'Leary that he had a bad feeling that he wouldn't go through.
He described his feelings as "over the moon, crazy".
A homecoming for Arthur will take place in Middlesbrough on Tuesday and include an appearance at the town hall.
