Foundation for Jobs As part of our Foundation for Jobs campaign, this column is devoted to a young person so they can issue a "come-and-get-me" call to firms.

Name: Jack Burn Age: 17 From: Barnard Castle Looking for: More part-time work Jack went to Staindrop School and is studying on a L2 Public Services course and dreams of joining the Royal Marines. His plan is to go straight into the Marines once he has completed his course. He can't wait to join the Marines and serve his country and travel the world.

He has a part-time job doing kitchen work but would love to get more part-time work. He has English & Maths GCSE and is enjoying learning about the Armed Forces and maintaining high fitness levels.

"This course at college is great experience and I enjoy learning from tutors like Dec Donnolly. I have a part-time job and I know a lot of people so could probably get more work but it is hard for young people of my age. If I had to describe myself to an employer it would be that I'm funny but also I'm hard working. I'm really looking forward to serving in the Marines and can't wait to get in."
