AN OPERATION to target the misuse of drugs in a County Durham town led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man.

On Friday, November 23, officers from Sedgefield Neighbourhood Police Team and a passive drugs dog visited licensed premises in Sedgefield and the Trimdon area.

Police say a significant amount of drugs were recovered from the Fox and Hounds pub on Front Street in Trimdon Village.

An 18- year-old man from the area was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs and is on police bail. Police will continue to target premises throughout the Christmas period.

Anyone with any information about drugs activity in the area is asked to contact the team 101.
