The Football Association have decided Consett referee Mark Clattenburg will not face disciplinary action over a complaint of an alleged racist comment directed towards Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, Press Association Sport is reporting.

An ex-Newcastle footballer accused of sparking a brawl outside a nightclub has told a court he had nothing to do with violence that night.
Kazenga Lua Lua, now playing for Brighton and Hove Albion, also said he was not an arrogant man and did not do anything wrong.

WEATHER WARNING: The Met Office has issued a weather warning for the North-East this afternoon.
They say: "A spell of very wet and very windy weather is expected to move west to east across many parts of the UK during Thursday.
"Coming so soon after the heavy rain which fell in places earlier in the week this is likely to provoke further issues with flooding.
"Additionally, winds will gust to 50 to 60 mph in places, and could exceed 70 mph in some exposed western areas.
"In view of the wind and rain combination, the public should be prepared for some transport disruption."

HIGH WINDS: Darlington Borough Coucil has warned people there might be delays or disruption due to high winds at the town's household waste recycling centre today.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience.

POWER CUT: A power cut is affecting businesses and properties at the southern end of Northallerton High Street. Between 50 and 100 properties are thought to be involved.

LEVESON INQUIRY: The report from the first part of the Leveson Inquiry into press standards is to be released next Thursday.
David Cameron set up the inquiry in July last year in response to revelations that the News of the World commissioned a private detective to hack murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowlers phone after she disappeared in 2002.
The first part, which started in September last year, looked at the culture, practices and ethics of the press in general and its final report will be published on November 29, the inquiry announced today.
