CAROL CONCERT: Crook Rotary Club will hold a Carol concert in St Andrew’s Church on Dawson Street in Crook at 7pm on Tuesday, December 4. Music will be provided by Val Anderson and John Oliver as well as choirs from St Cuthbert`s and Peases West Primary Schools. Father Christmas is also expected to visit. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £1.50 for children on the door or form club members.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: Hamsterley Churches Together will hold a Christmas Fair at the Methodist Chapel Churches Together Centre at 2.30pm on Saturday. (NOV 24) Stalls will be selling home produce, Christmas gifts and decorations and other items.

CHARITY SHOPPING: The Butterwick Hospice will hold a Christmas fair featuring slate art, cupcakes, cosmetics, home wares, Christmas goods and more in the Newgate Centre in Bishop Auckland from 9.30am to 3pm on Saturday. (NOV 24)

FESTIVE FAIR: A Christmas fair will be held in Frosterley Village Hall on Friday, November 30, to raise funds for Frosterley Community Primary School. The fair will run from 5pm to 8pm and will feature market stalls, a raffle, tombola and Father Christmas.

CHURCH CONCERT: Durham Constabulary male Voice Choir will perform at St Clare’s Church, Newton Aycliffe, on Saturday, November 24, 6.30pm. Tickets £5 on the door and include a wine and cheese supper, in aid of church funds.

CONSERVATION CONVERSATION: Historic building conservation expert Martin Roberts will give a talk on the decline of Weardale’s great Elizabethan houses to the Tudhoe and Spennymoor Local History Society at St David’s Church Hall in Tudhoe at 7.30pm on Monday, November 26.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: West Lodge Care Home in Billy Row will hold a Christmas fair featuring los of festive activities on Saturday (NOV 24) starting at 2pm. Entry will be free.

COFFEE MORNING: Chilton Primary School will hold a coffee morning in its refurbished dining hall between 10am and noon on Saturday (NOV 24) in aid of Muscular Dystrophy. There will be refreshments, a raffle, tombola and seaside bingo with bottle tops.
