COMMUTERS on the region's railways faced delays on Friday (November 16), after a fatality in Scotland led to delays further down the line.
A man was killed after being struck by a train at Long Niddry, near Edinburgh, at about 1.15pm.
Inquiries are ongoing to establish the man's identity and the circumstances of his death, said a spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP).
The incident, which led to the East Coast Main Line being closed in the area, with subsequent delays. Services resumed by 3pm.
It led to delays on services operated by East Coast, Cross Country and ScotRail.
BTP said it understood there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.
A full report will be prepared for the procurator fiscal, the Scottish equivalent of a coroner.
