SOWERBY Parish Council has launched its first website, sowerbyparishcouncil.org.uk, as part of a revised communications strategy.

It will feature details about the parish as well as council documents, policies and decisions.

Council chairman Mark Robson said: “We are keen to encourage feedback from members of the public both on the website itself and on the many important opportunities and challenges facing the parish in the coming years.”

RAILWAYS FOCUS: The Northallerton branch of the Wensleydale Railway will meet on Monday, (November 19), at 7.30pm, at Northallerton Cricket Club, Farndale Avenue, for a film presentation titled Railways of Britain and the World. There will be no meeting in December.

FESTIVE FAIR: Mayor of Richmond Stuart Parsons will attend Greyfriars extra care home Christmas fair, in the town, on Saturday, (November 17), from 9am to noon, proceeds from which will go to the Residents’ Fund. The event will include a tombola, cake, book and jam stalls.
