Phil Gray has left Darlington and joined West Auckland in time for Saturday's meeting between the sides.

The left-back was Quakers' last remaining member of the squad that won the FA Trophy at Wembley in May last year.

Gray, 20, was an unused substitute that day, while he failed to make the breakthrough with Darlington after initially making a handful appearances in the 2010-11 season.

Under Martin Gray, the left-back has found himself behind both Dan Smith and Darren Richardson in the pecking order and he has this season spent time on loan at Norton & Stockton, against whom he made his West Auckland debut in their 7-0 win last night at Station Road.

Meanwhile, Quakers chairman Denis Pinnegar says the club is delighted with Durham City's provision of transport for the meeting between the sides next month.

Durham have arranged coach travel to and from Durham railway station to their ground when Quakers play at New Ferens Park on December 15.

Pinnegar said: "We are delighted at this offer by Durham City FC which is in keeping with the excellent welcome Darlington Football Club have had from the vast majority of other clubs in the Northern League.

"Having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit to Durham in the close season we are looking forward to going back there in numbers."

City chairman Austin Carney added: "We are very much looking forward to Darlington playing here and welcome all of their fans for what we know will be a great day out.

"We have great facilities both on and off the pitch here at Durham and the Darlington fans will be able to enjoy our hospitality as well as a great game of football.

"By using the rail/coach service fans will be able to enjoy a drink without the worry of driving home which can only be good.

"Our normal ticket prices are £6 adults, £3 for concessions with under-14s accompanied by an adult free and we have no intention of increasing them just because we are playing Darlington."

Coaches will leave the railway station at 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm and 2.30pm and will return at 5.30pm, 6pm and 6.30pm with a suggested donation of £1 each way.
