Boy remains in serious condition after collision
A FOUR-year-old boy who was hit by a car as he used a pedestrian crossing yesterday afternoon is still in a serious condition.
The youngster was crossing King Street, in Spennymoor, County Durham, at 3.45pm yesterday when he was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with a fractured skull and broken right ankle and left thigh.
Police have this morning described injuries as serious, but not life-threatening.
The driver of the Corsa, a local woman in her late teens, stopped at the scene.
Witnesses are asked to call Durham Constabulary's accident unit on 0191-3752159 or 0845-6060365.
