Masher Keeps Mischiefs Flying High

This was an enthralling encounter and for a time the Mischiefs were under the cosh. The defending was superb but it also helps to have a world class goalkeeper and they certainly have that in Matthew "Masher" Lovett.
Masher was outstanding in this game and made one of the best saves ever seen in mini soccer. Paul McCance described the triple save as something that had "to be seen to be believed" and went on to say "I was there and I still don't know how a boy that age can spread himself THREE times to save a certain goal!"
Masher is honorary assistant manager of Torpedo Consett and was very proud to relive the save when he attended the Torpedo match at Washington after his performance at Monkton. He was thrilled to receive the much coveted captains armband as testament of his man of the match award.
The Mischiefs goals came once again from two usual suspects in McKenzie Milner who notched up a superb hat trick and Alex Johnson who added one more to his tally for the season.
Well done to all for a fantastic result!
