After a series of dialogues with the Redcar TLS/Simpson Racing UK team manager Jason Pipe during the past week - David Wallinger who had announced his retirement earlier in the month has agreed to race in the Conference League for 2008 after all.

Commented Jason: 'David is now raring to go and can't wait for his season to start and I'm sure the fans will get behind him 100%.

I'm pleased he has sorted his off-track problems out and I do believe that David is a rider for the future and will one day reach his dream of becoming a Redcar Bear in the Premier League.' David won the junior version of 'The most improved rider' at the club's 2007 end-of-season awards.

Jason continued: 'Having signed Aussie Aaron Summers in the previous 24 hours and now with David Wallinger having agreed to ride, I do believe that we can hit that 4th spot in the league to qualify for the Play Offs.' The provisional Cubs line-uo for their first fixture against the Boston Barracudas at the Norfolk Arena in a challenge match on Wednesday April 9th is- 1. Scott James 2. Martin Emerson 3.
