16-year-old Redcar Cub Greg Blair is already up and about on crutches having had a rod inserted in his upper leg to repair his broken femur following a crash at Glasgow Speedway on Sunday March 16th.
It was originally believed that Wee Greg would miss the whole 2008 season but the Scottish youngster has informed Cubs' team manager Jason Pipe that he must sit out three months to allow the femur time to heal but already has a mid-June, early-July comeback pencilled in! The 2007 junior 'Rider of the Year' would like to record his thanks to those fans who sent him goodwill messages or made 'phone enquiries to check on his medical condition. He has already informed Jason Pipe that he would like to be in the pits for the 'TLS/Simpson Racing UK' Cubs re-arranged opening fixture at the Norfolk Arena against the Boston Barracudas on Wednesday April 9th and would also like to lead his team out on the Saturday afternoon of April 12th when the Buxton Hitmen are the Conference League visitors to the South Tees Motorsport Park
