LYONS SIGN MALINGA FOR 2008 SEASON

Hetton Lyons Cricket Club have signed Sri Lankan Malinga Surappulige as their overseas player for 2008.
The 24 year old fast bowler represents Badureliya Sports Club in Sri Lanka and has taken 138 first class wickets (as at 27th Feb 2008) at just over 21 runs per wicket with a best of 7/29.
Malinga will not only play an important role on the pitch but will work very closely with the junior players developing cricketers for the future.
Malinga will arrive in England during April 2008 and everyone at the club is looking forward to his arrival.
