Game Time are looking for children between the ages of 6 & 11 who enjoy basketball and would like to show off their skills for Lazy Town and the BBC. Game Time have been contacted by the BBC in search of local talent on the basketball court and along with our current crop of young stars we have decided to open the auditions to all players around the area.

Lazy Town researcher; Genny Cotroneo is very impressed with the Game Time organisation and has requested the opportunity to come and see some of our young players and hold auditions for the new Lazy Town Extra show, which will start filming in May/June.

Lazy Town is a hugely popular show among children and parents available to watch on Cbeebies. One of the shows main characters is called Sportacus, a super fit, agile, acrobatic super hero that always saves the day. He is a patient, kind and gentle man that prefes to lead by example and is the ideal role model for young children, especially those with a sporting interest.

Genny added "We are producing a programme for CBeebies called LazyTown Extra and will contain all of the popular characters from the original. To add to the health consciousness and physical motivation of the programme, this new series will involve children from the UK carrying out various sporting activities including basketball and Game Time sounds like a great organization so we would like to come and see their young players" Game Time are opening the auditions to any youngsters from around the area who have a keen interest in basketball. You don't have to be the next Michael Jordan but should be comfortable in front of the camera and may be interviewed just like the real professionals!

James Thomson, head of Game Time added "Basketball is the second most popular sport in the country and it continues to grow. We organize basketball parties which has seen a massive surge in interest because of High School Musical and now the interest in our organization from the BBC and Lazy Town is a good indication of the positive work we are doing for the sport." The Game Time auditions will take place on Wednesday 30th April from 6-8pm at Macmillan Academy in Middlesbrough. All players will have to sign some parental consent forms and register their interest with Game Time prior to the auditions.
