THE UK has some of the best cycling routes around from the Camel Trail in Cornwall to the family friendly, Swansea bike path along the Welsh coast.

The Caravan Club has rounded up some of the best to encourage people to take to the saddle this spring.

Camel trail in Cornwall: The Camel trail in Cornwall is a beautiful, 18 mile traffic free trail which is perfect for cyclists. It meanders through the Cornish Countryside along a disused railway line and travels between Wenford through to the fishing port at Padstow. A stay at the Camelford Caravan Club Site is a 30 minute drive from Wenford. There are some amazing vineyards along the way and a chance to sample some local wine. Priced from £15.50 based on two adults per pitch, per night in a caravan or motorhome.

The Lancaster Loop: This 17 mile cycle trail circles the historic city of Lancaster, along the banks of the river Lune to Glasson Dock and then makes its way back around to the city centre through the countryside. There are pubs and cafes along the way as well as the 13th century Lancaster Castle. A stay at the Long Barn Certificated Location Caravan Club Site is located on the Asthon Hall Estate within easy reach of Lancaster. Certificated Location sites are smaller, privately owned five-van only sites – ideal for quieter breaks away. Priced from £10 based on two adults per pitch, per night in a caravan or motorhome.

Bristol to Bath: The cycle path traces the 13 mile route from Bristol’s port to the heart of Bath and is a lovely family friendly trail along a disused railway. The Hayfields Certificated Location Caravan Club Site is located in Mangotsfield in Bristol and is within walking distance of the local pub. Watersports and golf are also both available within five miles of the site. Priced from £17.50 based on two adults per pitch, per night in a caravan or motorhome.

Swansea Bike Path: A stunning coastal cycle route which has fantastic views across to Mumbles Head and the start of the Gower Peninsula. The route starts at Swansea Marina, follows the path of the coastline to the Victorian seaside town along the route of the former Mumbles railway. The Gowerton Caravan Club Site is located in nearby Gowerton in Swansea and is the perfect place to visit the surrounding areas, beaches and Swansea. Priced from £17.10 based on two adults per pitch, per night in a caravan or motorhome.
