OUR National Allotment Week competition attracted a bumper crop of entries from green-fingered Country Life readers.
The judges had a hard job to pick the winner but, in the end, they selected Charlotte Hobbs, of Heighington, near Darlington.
Charlotte sent in an array of pictures from the family allotment she looks after with her partner Kevin and their seven-year-old daughter Evie.
Charlotte said: “We only took it over in April this year and have managed to grow courgettes, cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, spinach, rocket, peas, onions, broad beans, carrots, chillies, tomatoes and lettuce.
“Evie loves learning about growing our own veg and herbs and we’re all chuffed to bits to win the competition.”
The prize was a meal for two in Sam Turner’s popular café.
