For the third year running, the quiz has been set by former Superbrain champions DAVID CHISHOLM and DAVE TUCKER of Aycliffe in County Durham.

There are six categories of questions: Current Affairs, North-East, Literature, Sport, Pop, Film and TV. Each category also includes ten picture questions, and whoever identifies the most of the total of 60 pictures will be crowned King of the Pictures and will win £25.

RULES
1. You can enter just one category - say Pop - or just the picture round or even just the mystery person. Or you may want to enter a couple of categories. Or you may want to enter the entire quiz. It is up to you - but you don't have to answer every question.
2. Answers will only be accepted on the grid published today on the back of the Sport round or on the on-line answersheet.
3. Send your completed grids by post to Superbrain, The Northern Echo, Priestgate, Darlington DL1 1NF. On-line, just put your answers in the boxes provided, fill in your details and click 'Enter'.
4. The closing date is midday on Friday, January 12, 2007. Answers will be published on Saturday, January 20 and the winners will be announced on Saturday, January 27.
5. The winner will receive £250; the runner-up £100, and each of the six category winners will receive £25. The King of the Pictures will also receive £25, plus the winner of the Mystery Person will receive £25. These prizes are only available to people living within the North-East and North Yorkshire. On-line, there will be an additional £50 prize for the highest score coming from outside our region.
6. The winner is the person who, in the judges' opinion, has the most correct answers. In the case of a tie, whoever has identified the mystery person correctly will be the winner. If still a tie, lots will be drawn.
7. The editor's decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
