Folk hero to mark birthday with gigs
NORTH-EAST folk singer Vin Garbutt will
play several dates in the region to mark his
60th birthday.
The Middlesbrough born singer-songwriter
will play three nights across the North-East
as part of his seven-month world tour to commemorate
the milestone.
He will perform at Reeth Memorial Hall, in
Swaledale, North Yorkshire, on Friday, the following
night he will play Sedgefield Cricket
Club, County Durham, and he will be at Middlesbrough
Knights Club on January 30.
Mr Garbutt has been touring with his
thought-provoking songs for more than 35
years.
In 2001, he was awarded Best Live Act in the
Radio 2 Folk Awards and awarded an honorary
masters degree at Teesside University for his
services to music.
