Country

HARD core country fans will relate to the hits of Hal Ketchum.
To others, he will still be a new name, although for the last 15 or so years he has been providing brilliant songs and an entertainment value second to none.
He made his debut in 1986 with an album entitled Threadbare Alibis on an independent label, but it was not until his signing to Curb Records, around 1992, that the Nashville peers stood up and took notice.
Apart from releasing seven studio albums and a compilation release, he has also charted 18 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, but awaits a number one hit.
Apart from his talent as a country music entertainer, he is also a master carpenter and a painter of repute having had his own exhibition at the Pena Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He appears in the North-East at the Journal Tyne Theatre, Newcastle, on Friday, April 25. This is a rare opportunity to see a talent that should be in the charts almost every week.
If, as yet, you have not seen or heard of Hal Ketchum, it is time to treat yourself to a great experience. You certainly will not be disappointed.
