DESIGNING a film tie-in is a thankless task. If it’s a kids cartoon, you’ll inevitably end up with a 3-D platform adventure and every critic will compare it (unfavourably) to the classic Mario 64.

THANKS to financial woes at MGM there won’t be a new James Bond movie this year. Filming is due to start shortly, but so much work goes into a blockbuster these days that the next Bond adventure won’t be ready until next year.
