Windows Live Movie Maker is a small but powerful programme that's available as a free download from Microsoft. It's an excellent introduction to video editing that's capable of surprisingly professional results.

This book shows what's possible with a video camera, Movie Maker and a bit of imagination.

Experiment with trimming clips, splitting and rotating footage. Add a soundtrack, some artistic fades and learn how to output your movie masterpiece onto a DVD complete with menu. It's so simple any can be making terrific home movies in a matter of minutes.

And, despite the somewhat prosaic cover, it's packed with hints and tips I'd not read before. Well written and generously illustrated, Getting Started With Windows Live Moviemaker is guaranteed to bring out the Hitchcock in all of us.
