A COUPLE of weeks ago I reviewed two software programmes that could transfer DVDs to iPods and PSPs.
They were both very effective, but what options are there for PSP owners who don't have a computer?
The Neuros MP4 recorder is the perfect solution. Essentially, it's a little box of tricks that can record a DVD on a MemoryStick that can be popped into a PSP for instant movies. There's no need to leave a computer churning away for hours on end - the Neuros does everything in real time.
Around the back are two plugs for the video and audio inputs and a power connector. Just hook up your DVD player or video recorder and press record on the remote control - it's so simple.
You can record in standard TV definition as well as the PSP's widescreen size and an iPod-friendly 320x240. Recordings capable of being replayed on your TV are stored in a different folder to "on-the-go" video. The Neuros also has a timer facility and four quality settings.
About the only bad thing about the Neuros is the difficulty of getting hold ofone. Amazon. com has them for half price at the moment at £43.40, although you'll need to pay for international postage on top of that.
