DO you love lounging by the pool-side reading the latest summer blockbuster? This year, if a small Oxford-based company has its way you won't be jetting off on holiday with the latest Jilly or Geoffrey in your suitcase - you'll be taking an entire library in your pocket.
Electronic books have threatened to go mainstream for a couple of years now, but the technology has always stumbled. According to the firm Publishing Technology, that's because no one has managed to create an iTunes for audio books.
This summer Publishing Technology will launch an electronic book publishing service with the backing of some of the biggest names in the industry. If it takes off, the age of the dog-eared paperback could soon be over.
