Featuring a colour display and loads of icons, this remote makes navigating child's play. With the ability to control up to 15 of your electronic devices, this should have most people's homes covered.

Or how about the Logitech Harmony 1100, which has a feature list as long as my arm?

You customise the controls so you get exactly the right machines to power up at your request, then select the icons you want to see for each command.

The Logitech Harmony puts the fun back into remote controlling - but then it does cost an eyewatering £349!
