WE could be forgiven for thinking we were about to be treated to George Michael’s Faith whenever we hear this thigh-clapping intro coming over the airwaves.
It does, thankfully, morph into something quite different.
I will always have a soft spot for James, with his unmistakably haunting voice and interesting vocal range, and although he has embraced his bouncier, get-up-and-dance side recently, I still feel it fails to hit the heights of 1973.
It does have all the typical James Blunt ingredients that we know and love – he’s moved on from the melancholy You’re Beautiful, which may have suited his vocal abilities well.
But he’s more than proved he can also do flippant, positive and look-to-the-future optimism.
