A very confident debut album from the young tenor player.
On a nicely varied programme of original compositions, he’s well supported by Ivo Neame again on piano, with Calum Gourlay double bass and James Maddren drums.
It’s very much a contemporary album but with a clear acknowledgement and incorporation of classic tenor, particularly one of his major influences, Joe Henderson.
