AN INTERNATIONAL jazz festival will be held at one of the North-East's most famous music venues next weekend.

The star studded event kicks off at The Sage Gateshead on Friday night, March 26, with performances over three days.

Festival highlights include former Specials supremo Jerry Dammers, with the Spatial AKA Orchestra, at 7.30pm on Friday. Tickets cost £19.50.

Also on the bill is The Stan Tracey Octet big band, who play on Friday at 8pm. Tickets cost £18.50.

Other acts to perform over the weekend include Hession/Wilkinson/Fell, Gwilym Simcock and Massed Voices, and Abdullah Ibrahim-Ekaya.
