3:09pm Thursday 12th January 2012 in Country By Brian Clough
SOME know Martina McBride as the Celine Dion of country music. She is a also four-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist Of The Year and, apart from her Grammy Awards, has clocked up a staggering 18m album sales to date.
Perhaps her most well-known song is Independence Day, written by Gretchen Peters.
Next Tuesday, she releases a new album.
It’s a collection of songs from her career to date, with an additional three new tracks plus four Number One Singles, Ten Top Fives and Two Top Tens.
Songs like I Love You, This One’s For The Girls and Anyway are only a smattering of her classics, and accompanied by new names like Surrender, Straight To The Bone and Being Myself. Martina has stamped class throughout the 20-track release.
It’s worth a place in anyone’s CD collection, let alone that of a hard and fast country fan.
Join me anytime on the American Connection online country music show on euvue.co.uk as I’ll be playing three tracks in our Album Of The Week slot from this Saturday.
