Mark Chesnutt: The Ultimate Collection (Complete MCA Singles 1990-2000) Humphead Records HUMP115

IN 1990 Texas-born Mark Chesnutt signed to the MCA record label despite being affectionately known as “the human jukebox”.

His repertoire was mainly song covers, and he knew the words to more than 1,000 country songs, but Chesnutt proved his worth by achieving 14 number ones and 23 top singles while he was with the label.

In 2001, he moved to Columbia Records, but ten years on MCA has released Mark Chesnutt The Ultimate Collection, containing his singles up to 2000. The album is a gem from The opening track of Brother Jukebox on Disc One to the closing bars of Lost In The Feeling on Disc Two.

The double CD contains 30 tracks and it’s interesting to note that it includes his version of the Don Gibson song Woman Sensuous Woman.

In total it’s a treat for traditional country fans and worthy of a place in any good music lover’s collection.
