Sunderland four-piece The Futureheads are playing an intimate gig at The Georgian Theatre in Stockton in April as part of their nine-date tour promoting new album, Rant.
The guitar band has released four albums between 2004 and 2010 but their fifth album is a daring departure - as it doesn't feature any instruments.
It is comprised entirely of a cappella versions of the band's tracks and a series of cover versions, including Black Eyed Peas' Meet Me Halfway and Kelis' Acapella as well as renditions of three traditional folk songs.
Singer Barry Hyde said: "A Futureheads fan who doesn’t get 'Rant' is not a Futureheads fan. This version of The Futureheads has always been there.
"We’re bringing to the fore what we’re really about: a unification, a gang mentality, which is in the balance between our voices and our personalities.
"And on 'Rant' we're pushing that right into your face."
The foursome have previously toured the US, playing major festivals and a sell out tour plus supporting bands such as the Pixies, Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol.
The gig will see the band perform tracks from the album, and special guests, The Cornshed Sisters, will join them.
Tickets are £15 in advance or £18 on the door for the gig on Friday, April 6, at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.georgiantheatre.co.uk, Green Dragon Studios or by calling 01642-674115.
