THE debut album from the double Mobo-winning female saxophonist YolanDa Brown, stays true to the core rhythms of jazz music while embracing other influences such as reggae, soul and R&B.
Although the British-Jamaican composer draws on old schools of music, the overall impact is a gracefully-crafted urban sound.
Eight of the ten tracks are saxophone performances, with the remaining two featuring rich, soothing vocals.
The tracks complement each other well, resulting in an accomplished debut album that tugs at your heartstrings while giving quiet reassurance.
