We have been very fortunate in the North-East to have had opportunities to hear John Warren’s compositions performed by Voice of the North or his Splinter Group.

This is a second volume of otherwise rarely-heard pieces, which he has rearranged for a very impressive group of musicians including trumpeter Martin Shaw, trombonist Mark Nightingale, saxophonists Christian Brewer, Stan Sulzmann and Julian Siegel and pianist Gwilym Simcock.

It’s edited and mixed by the late Dave Connolly. They do full justice to John’s arrangements in a perfect blend of feeling and thoughtfulness.
