Retired primary school teacher Joy Crawshaw presents York’s history in the form of a story about a party of schoolchildren touring the city – to discover its history.
Joy’s prime aim is to encourage interest in the human, everyday side of history – “why and how lives changed over the centuries. York is an ideal example because all invaders to England came to York”.
