Twelve hours of the best music around is going to hit Teesside next month with Stockton Calling staged at The Georgian, Ku and Arc on April 3.
TWELVE hours of non-stop music lie ahead for fans on Saturday, April 3, when Ku, Arc and The Georgian, showcase Stockton Calling, featuring the best of local and touring bands around, from noon to midnight.
Indie, electro, rock and punk performances are headlined by Teesside’s rising stars, The Chapman Family. The NME supported outfit returns to the Arc stage for the first time since their debut gig. Since then, the boys have headlined an NME tour, supported La Roux on her national tour, played Leeds and the main stage at Evolution and this year are heading out to SXSW.
Other headliners so far are Tynesiders Detroit Social Club, who are fresh from supporting Oasis on their last ever tour and White Belt Yellow Tag, which is formed by former members of Newcastle band Yourcodenameis:milo.
Also on the bill are: Little Comets, Bicycle Thieves, Morning Parade and Sharks who have all appeared on NME’s Award Show tour this year.
The event is also a chance for people to see the talent right here in Teesside. Some of the local bands involved are Russell and the Wolves, Be Quiet. Shout Loud!, Lifeless, Jimmy and the Sounds, The Ryots, Pretty Hickeys, and Dirty Weekend.
The three venues can also boast having staged top touring acts over the years such as Arctic Monkeys, Mystery Jets, The Kooks, The Cribs, Jack Penate, Lost Prophets, Ash, Turin Brakes, Reverend and The Makers and Friendly Fires to name a few.
