Un-Fugettable

FILL the Fug is furious.

Flipping hell. Flaming Nora. And a few other fwords I’m not allowed to use in public. The cause of Fill blowing a gasket in EastEnders (BBC1) is the surprise return of one of his loved ones.

He finds out that daughter Louise is in the Square quite by accident. His on-off lover, don’tcall- me-Shirley, mistakenly thinks he’s proposing to her. When he laughs in her face at the idea, she flounces off and bumps into Ronnie who drops a photo of Fill, Louise and the girl’s mother Lisa Fowler.

With impeccable timing Louise emerges from hiding as Fill focuses on the picture. He doesn’t take the news well, pinning Ronnie against the wall for keeping his daughter’s discovery a secret. There’s a lot of secrecy all round. It turns out that the authorities are looking for Louise and exactly why she’s not at home is a mystery.

Fill, whose record as a father leaves a lot to be desired, is delighted to have Louise back although someone points out that he’ll ruin his chances of getting her back for good if he doesn’t tell the authorities.

As she’s dragged away by social services, Fill swears (something he does a lot) that he’ll do everything in his power to get her back.

Mad Max Branning has family matters on his mind too. He finally catches up with dead son Bradley’s pregnant widow Stacey, who was last heard confessing to killing evil Archie.

As he holds Stacey responsible for Bradley’s death and the fact that the police reckon he committed the murder, we can be certain that he’ll have a right old go at Stacey. Someone else with pregnancy problems is Lucy Beale.

The plan was for her to have the baby and do her exams (not, presumably, at the same time) and then let parents Ian and Jane raise the child.

Poor Lucy is torn two ways – Jane is excited about having a baby and reading all about early pregnancy, while Ian is buy plotting to make Lucy have a termination.

Who’d have children? Paddy Kirk must wish he wasn’t Aaron’s guardian in Emmerdale (ITV1). He follows the troubled teen to a gay pub in a bid to get to the bottom (an unfortunate turn of phrase you may think) of Aaron’s sexual confusion. Earlier Aaron had plucked up courage (and if you’ve ever plucked up yours you’ll know it takes some doing) to go to a gay pub. When one of the customers asks him if he wants a game of pool (it could have been worse – pocket billiards), he does a runner, leaving his mobile behind in the rush. Horror of horrors, the chap from the pub turns up to return the phone. Suspicious Paddy follows Aaron on his next night out, only to have the lad attack him.

Fighting too – a food fight – between Chas and Nicola. The two women can’t take any more of each other as housemates which leads to Chas shoving a cream cake in Nicola’s face. Waste of cake, if you ask me.

Over in Coronation Street (ITV1) no bail for Gail who’s still in jail. Weatherfield’s PC Plods are convinced that Gail murdered husband Joe to claim his life insurance money.

Son Demonic David doesn’t help by intimidating witnesses and when Gail is refused bail, he doesn’t know what to do. He’ll have to start making his own tea and washing his own underpants.

Jesse Chadwick is back in Eileen’s life but when she rejects him he shifts his attention to her halfsister Julie. This isn’t a wise move on Jesse’s part – if the sisters get together and compare stories, he could find himself on the receiving end of some rough stuff.
